November 03, 2026

Who Should Attend

  • Human Resource Directors and Staff
  • Operations and Business Managers
  • Payroll Personnel
  • Executive Directors and School Leaders

AB 126, signed into law on July 9, 2026, creates a new paid pregnancy leave entitlement for school employees, including those at charter schools, beginning January 1, 2027. Join YMC Partners Chastin Pierman and Anthony Serrao as they cover who is eligible, how long the paid leave lasts and at what rate, how health benefits are handled during the leave, and how the new entitlement works alongside existing pregnancy disability leave, FMLA/CFRA, and other leave and accommodation obligations. The presenters will explain where the law is clear, where questions remain, and how schools can make reasonable, defensible choices while further guidance develops.

Attendees will leave knowing what to review in their current leave policies, handbooks, and payroll practices ahead of the operative date.
