This course will prepare charter school leaders to tackle the most common obstacles faced in the course of employment, including pre-employment screenings and hiring, documenting deficiencies and evaluations, misconduct investigations and resolutions, and discipline/termination of staff.
Learn to master the complex rules and laws for hourly employees, such as exempt vs. nonexempt classifications, timekeeping, rest and meal breaks, overtime, and wage statements. Learn to develop a system to ensure employees are appropriately classified and managed to avoid costly litigation and monetary penalties, including the latest update from the U.S. Supreme Court regarding how to limit exposure to PAGA claims.
