Exploring LRE: The Legal Requirements of Student Placement in a More Restrictive Environment

May 21, 2025

Who Should Attend

  • IEP Team Members - Administrators
  • Case Managers
  • Special Education Teachers
  • Service Providers

This workshop will give you the confidence to have legally defensible conversations during IEP meetings around placement in a more restrictive environment. When a more restrictive placement is not a part of your charter structure, you are still responsible for providing a Free and Appropriate Public Education. We will help you understand the practical next steps and subtle nuances of placing a special education student in a more restrictive setting that is contracted with either a Local Educational Agency (“LEA”), Nonpublic School (“NPS”), or Residential Treatment Center (“RTC”).

We look forward to engaging in this conversation with you.
