The California Legislature passed dozens of bills through the close of the 2023-24 legislative session affecting many aspects of California charter school operations as of January 1, 2025, including in the areas of employment, health and safety, curriculum, and technology use, among other topics, in addition to the changes in law made over the summer through the education budget trailer bill. Recently decided and pending court cases will also impact charter school operations and charter authorization.
