Overview
Adam Afshar is an experienced litigator with a background in complex legal matters at trial and on appeal. Adam employs a strong foundation in legal writing, research, and creative problem-solving to advance the dual missions of equity in education and school choice.
Before joining YMC, Adam served as embedded appellate counsel with a national firm where he handled all aspects of substantive legal proceedings from initial law and motion through trial, extraordinary writs, and appeals. Adam previously served as appellate counsel for another national firm where he briefed civil and criminal appeals, writ petitions, and post-conviction filings in state and federal courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States.
While in law school, Adam began honing his skills in oral and written advocacy as a moot court competitor and coach, lead writer and editor in the Emory Law School Supreme Court Advocacy Program, and graduate teaching assistant in Advanced Legal Writing.
