Overview
Edward (“Ted”) Slabach is a seasoned attorney with more than twenty-two years of litigation, trial, and appellate experience representing non-profits, individuals, and private entities in civil and administrative matters in the areas of employment, labor, construction, real estate, personal injury, and civil rights.
Inspired by YMC’s mission to expand choice in education, Ted came to YMC from a prominent California real estate firm, where he managed its appellate department. Early in his career, Ted traveled throughout the state representing California peace officers and firefighters in civil and administrative actions arising from critical incidents.
Soon after joining YMC, Ted became one of the few attorneys in California to win attorneys’ fees for a charter school after prevailing against a school district in a “Prop. 39” facilities dispute. He also handled YMC’s very first jury trial where he succeeded in winning complete defense verdicts for a Southern California university and several administrators and faculty members.
Ted currently focuses his practice on defending schools and school administrators against employment, labor, and personal injury claims. He is admitted in all of California’s state and federal courts, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal.
